Grief Support Programs

Flower with wordsThroughout the year, Calvert Hospice offers several support programs for those grieving the loss of someone close. Programs typically run 7 – 8 weeks and explore a variety of tools and techniques to aid participants in healing and coping.

Understanding Your Grief – A Course on Finding Hope & Healing Your Heart

An 8-week course designed to help adults who have experienced the death of a loved one within the last two years. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. The course combines education with a support group format. We use the book Understanding Your Grief and the Understanding Your Grief Journal each week.

‘Til Death Do We Part – A Grief Support Program for Spousal Loss

An 8-week program that will focus on learning to live again after the loss of a spouse. This program will help participants learn coping skills for dealing with grief, develop a support system with others who share a similar experience, and learn about healthy grieving.

Gone But Never Forgotten – Substance Abuse Loss Grief Seminar

Join us for a FREE seminar that tackles the stigma of substance abuse and overdose loss. Topics include: differences while grieving, how to heal after a substance abuse loss, forgiving yourself and your loved one, and complicated grief. There will also be a Q & A time with Calvert Hospice Bereavement staff.

An 8-week group that will tackle the stigma of substance abuse and overdose loss. Participants will gain assistance with working through the pain of losing a loved one to addiction, learning to find hope and healing after loss, gaining support from others who have had a similar experience, and identifying healthy ways to grieve.

Grieving Through the Holidays – Coping with Grief During the Holiday Season

A 4-week program for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. This program will help participants get through the holidays while grieving, learn coping skills for dealing with grief, understand their limitations, manage expectations, and set boundaries with friends and family.
