Community Giving 1st Quarter 2021

Thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who held fundraisers for Calvert Hospice between January and March of 2021! We are so thankful for your support.

Giant Food community bags

Calvert Hospice was the recipient of proceeds from the Giant Food Community Bag program. We earned $1 for every bag sold in the Prince Frederick store during the month of January. We received a donation of $54. Thank you to everyone who purchased a bag!

Asbury Solomons held their annual Mardi Gras a little differently this year! For years, they have raised funds for Calvert Hospice with an on-campus Mardi Gras dinner. But this year, they had to get creative and rethink their annual fundraising event. Eight events were planned throughout the week, including a Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt, Virtual Mardi Gras Costume Party and a Mardi Gras King and Queen Drawing. Despite not having the typical in-person dinner to raise, $6,646 donations were raised, exceeding the total amount of donations in previous years! Thank you everyone at Asbury Solomons for participating and making this event possible!

The #DoitforRoper Fishing Tournament was held on Saturday, March 13th, 2021. It was a very successful fishing tournament that boasted 330 participants who fished along the Patuxent river for catfish. At the end of the day participants brought their catfish to the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad for the weigh ins. After all was accounted for we are excited to announce that a donation was made to Calvert Hospice of $5,098!! Thank you to all who participated in this fundraising event and to the organizers of the event: Jeff, Bo and Angela!

MOD Pizza in Dunkirk held a fundraiser for Calvert Hospice on March 10, 2021 and raised $166.41! Thank you to everyone who went to eat at MOD Pizza on this day to help support Calvert Hospice.
