Volunteering for seniors

Volunteering is Good for Seniors!

Volunteering at any age has benefits to physical health, mental health, and emotional wellbeing. But for seniors, volunteering can be even more important. According to an article from Sixty and Me, volunteering can help seniors increase their self-confidence, expand their social circle, remain active longer, and keep their brains engaged in learning new things. Click the link above to read the entire article. Did you know that many of Calvert Hospice’s volunteers are seniors? There are so many ways that seniors can support the mission of hospice in our community: visiting with patients, helping in the office, working at The Shoppe for Hospice, spending time with children who are grieving, and honoring our veterans. If you think hospice volunteering might be a good fit for you, please contact Amanda Peterson at apeterson@calverthospice.org or 410-535-0892, ext. 4003.
